Itinerary

DAY 1: Ivato Airport / Antananarivo
  • Meet and greet at Ivato Airport (according to flight schedule).
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • Full board or half board and overnight at Hotel Le Louvre.
DAY 2: Antananarivo / Andasibe
  • In the morning, visit the upper town of Antananarivo (the capital of Madagascar) and the Queen's Palace.
  • Lunch at La Varangue restaurant.
  • Early afternoon, drive to Andasibe.
  • Stop at Moramanga.
  • Depending on the day, optional visit to the gendarmerie museum, showcasing vintage cars and historical weapons.
  • Arrival in Andasibe in the afternoon.
  • Dinner and overnight at Vakona Forest Lodge.
DAY 3: Andasibe
  • Visit the Andasibe park and its humid forest, home to the largest lemur species, the rare "Indri Indri." Nocturnal species including the tiny Microcebus also inhabit the park. Lush tropical forest, tree ferns, epiphytic orchids, sacred lianas, dwarf palms, medicinal plants, and 100 marked trees up to 30m high. An orchid park is included, picnic lunch in the forest.
  • In the afternoon, canoe crossing to visit the Vakona Reserve.
  • Dinner and overnight at Vakona Forest Lodge.
DAY 5: Ankanin'ny Nofy
  • Day dedicated to visiting the Palmarium to see about ten lemur species roaming freely (Indri, Sifaka, Coronatus, Varecia, Variegata, Propithecus, etc.), rare and endemic fauna and flora (orchids, carnivorous plants, ebony, mahogany, traveler's trees), and Madagascar-specific palm species, including rare varieties (Dypsis, Ravenea, Orania, Voaniola, Lemurophoenix).
  • Lunch at a restaurant.
  • Dinner and overnight at Palmaruim Hotel.
DAY 6: Ankanin'ny Nofy / Tamatave
  • Continue boat journey on the Pangalanes Canal to Tamatave, Madagascar's largest port and economic capital.
  • Lunch at a restaurant.
  • In the afternoon (optional), cultural and historical walking or rickshaw tour of Tamatave, including the port and university museums.
  • Dinner and overnight at Hotel Java.
DAY 7: Tamatave / Mahambo
  • Drive by 4x4 to Mahambo, with its lush vegetation, long beaches, and secluded coves.
  • Stop at Foulpointe, lunch on the beach.
  • Traditional canoe trip to explore Foulpointe’s marine life.
  • Continue to Mahambo.
  • Dinner and overnight at Hotel La Pirogue.
DAY 8: Mahambo / Sainte Marie
  • Drive to Soanierana Ivongo.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Boat transfer to Sainte Marie.
  • Dinner and overnight at Tipaniers Lodge.
DAY 9 - Day 10: Sainte Marie
  • Wild Sainte Marie Island with stunning beaches, surrounded by islets such as Île aux Nattes, Île aux Forbans, and Îlot Madame. Historical island tour with tales of 17th-18th century piracy.
  • Optional: Pirate cemetery visit on Île aux Nattes and whale watching (June to September).
  • Picnic lunches.
  • Dinners and overnights at Tipaniers Lodge.
DAY 11: Sainte Marie / Antananarivo
  • Transfer to Sainte Marie Airport, flight to Antananarivo.
  • Meet and greet at Ivato Airport.
  • Transfer to the hotel, depending on flight schedule.
  • Full board or half board and overnight at Hotel Le Louvre.
DAY 12: Antananarivo / Ivato Airport
  • After breakfast, time permitting, visit the royal hill "Ambohimanga" for an introduction to the royal history of Imerina.
  • Lunch in a restaurant.
  • Visit to the artisan market "La Digue" in the afternoon.
  • After dinner, transfer to the airport (depending on flight schedule).
