Itinerary

DAY 1: Seafood Picnic Lunch on the Beach
  • Snorkeling to discover the underwater treasures of this Turtle Island.
  • Return to Nosy in the mid-afternoon.
  • Dinner at Safari restaurant and overnight at Les Boucaniers hotel.
DAY 2: Nosy Komba / Tany Kely
  • Departure after breakfast for a boat excursion day to the two islands: Nosy Komba (the lemur island) and Tany Kely.
  • Visit to the Nosy Komba zoo park and its village of Ampangoriana.
  • Snorkeling to explore the underwater richness of Nosy Tany Kely, swimming and relaxing.
  • Seafood picnic lunch served on the beach.
  • Return to Nosy Be in the mid-afternoon.
  • Dinner at Papillon restaurant and overnight at Les Boucaniers hotel.
DAY 3: Nosy Be / Ankify / Ankarafantsika
  • Transfer to the port of Nosy Be.
  • Fast boat crossing to Ankify.
  • Departure by 4x4 along RN6 before turning onto RN4 to Ankarafantsika.
  • Lunch at a local roadside eatery on the way.
  • Arrival at Ankarafantsika in the mid-afternoon. Check-in at the hotel.
  • Nocturnal visit to Ankarafantsika National Park to see nocturnal lemurs—5 species are listed here including the world’s smallest primates (microcebus)—and chameleons such as Rhinoceratus and Oustalet.
  • Dinner and overnight at Blue Vanga Lodge.
DAY 4: Ankarafantsika
  • In the morning, boat ride on Lake Ravelobe to observe birds and aquatic species such as the rare fishing eagle Ankoay, Nile crocodiles, wild ducks, and aquatic plants.
  • This tour also offers insight into local culture through the rituals practiced on the lake.
  • Picnic lunch in the park.
  • In the afternoon, explore the park’s wildlife on a 2 to 3 hour hike to see various endemic animals such as different species of lemurs, birds, and reptiles via trails with stairs and bridges. This circuit also includes a visit to a beautiful botanical garden with original forest on white and red sand, rich in precious trees like rosewood and the sacred wood “mpanjakaben’ny tany.”
  • Dinner and overnight at Blue Vanga Lodge.
DAY 5: Ankarafantsika / Anjohibe Cave / Majunga
  • Departure by car to Anjohibe Cave. Visit this cave consisting of several chambers decorated with stalactites and stalagmites.
  • Picnic and swimming in the natural pool.
  • Continue the journey to Majunga.
  • Dinner and overnight at Fishing Résidence hotel.
DAY 6: Majunga / Red Cirques / Majunga
  • In the morning, historical walking tour or optional pousse-pousse ride through Majunga city: visit the market, colonial architecture of the "Majunga Be" district, the dhow port, the relaxing waterfront and peaceful haven for locals, adorned by the giant baobab tree over 500 years old, the city’s emblem.
  • Lunch at a restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, drive to the Red Cirque, a breathtaking exceptional site formed by the whims of wind and erosion on red and ochre lateritic soil, stunning to admire at sunset.
  • Return to Majunga city early evening.
  • Dinner at THI-LAN restaurant and overnight at Fishing Résidence hotel.
DAY 7: Majunga / Katsepy / Majunga
  • Day boat excursion to Katsepy Island.
  • Visit this exceptional island with its historical past and colonial-era lighthouse. Leisure time, picnic, and swimming on the beach.
  • Return to Majunga in the afternoon.
  • Dinner at Papi Raleur restaurant and overnight at Fishing Résidence hotel.
DAY 8: Majunga / Majunga Airport
  • Transfer to Amborovy Airport (depending on flight schedule).
