Itinerary
DAY 1: Nosy Be
- Welcome at Nosy Be airport.
- Transfer by car to the hotel located in Hell-ville.
- Dinner at Les Siciliens restaurant and overnight at Tata hotel.
DAY 2: Nosy Be / Ankify / Ambobaka
- After breakfast, transfer by car to the port of Nosy Be. Fast boat crossing to Ankify.
- Departure by car along the valley of perfumes to Ambobaka, famous village of healers and masseurs, where traditional medicine still plays an important role in ensuring the health of villagers and surroundings. Visit of their traditional healing centers. Stop at Ambobaka waterfall for a picnic lunch.
- Return to the village in the afternoon, homestay accommodation, meeting and exchange with the Sakalava people of Sambirano, an opportunity to discover their culinary art by participating in the preparation of Malagasy cuisine with the village women.
- Dinner and overnight with the host family.
DAY 3: Ambobaka / Ambilobe / Ambolamena / Ambilobe
- After an early breakfast, departure from Ambobaka to Ambanja, then take the road along RN6 to Ambilobe.
- Walking tour of the town, visit of the royal palace, meeting with the reigning prince Tsimiaro III to hear him recount the history of the Antakarana people.
- Lunch with the host family.
- In the afternoon, departure for Ambolamena, in the village of Bitsiaka, famous for its gold mine. Arrival late afternoon, homestay accommodation, meeting and exchange with villagers, many of whom are gold prospectors.
- Dinner and overnight with the host family.
DAY 4: Ambolamena / Ambilobe / Ambodibonara
- Morning dedicated to discovering the mining wealth of Northern Madagascar, visiting the gold mine, watching the gold prospectors at work in search of this precious treasure.
- Late morning departure to the village of Ambodibonara, with a lunch stop in Ambilobe.
- Arrival in Ambodibonara mid-afternoon, walking visit of the village, meeting and exchange with villagers, participation in the preparation of Malagasy cuisine with the village women.
- Dinner and overnight with the host family.
DAY 5: Ambodibonara / Sirama
- Morning dedicated to discovering the life of the villagers, livestock, agriculture, rice cultivation. Passing through the fishing village of Ambitamboho to see their fishing methods.
- Late morning departure for Sirama, a colonial village where a sugarcane factory SIRAMA (famous in its time) is located but currently in decline. Homestay accommodation for lunch.
- Afternoon walking tour of the village and its sugarcane fields.
- Dinner and overnight with the host family.
DAY 6: Sirama / Port St Louis / Nosy Be
- After an early breakfast and a farewell exchange with the Antakarana people of Ankarabe, transfer by car to Port St Louis, mini-cruise by motorized wooden pirogue, cruising along the virgin coast, an opportunity to see impressive islets including: Tsarabanjina Island, the Three Brothers islets, and many others.
- Lunch en route on one of the islets (prepared by the crew of the sailboat).
- Arrival in Nosy Be mid-afternoon.
- Transfer to the hotel.
- Dinner and overnight at Les Bungalows d’Ambonara hotel.
DAY 7: Nosy Be / Nosy Be Airport
- Free day, but guide available. Transfer by car to the airport.
