Itinerary
DAY 1: Ivato Airport / Antananarivo
- Welcome at Ivato airport (depending on flight time).
- Transfer to the hotel.
- Dinner and overnight at IC Hotel.
DAY 2: Antananarivo / Ambositra / Fianarantsoa
- Early morning departure by car to Fianarantsoa. Along the way, you will enjoy spectacular landscapes marked by hills sculpted with terraced rice fields.
- Stop in Ambositra to discover the work of Zafimaniry craftsmen, specialists in wood and marquetry.
- Lunch on site.
- Continue the drive as the landscape changes, revealing mountainous regions with pine and eucalyptus forests.
- Arrival in the Betsileo capital at the end of the day.
- Dinner and overnight at Zomatel Hotel.
DAY 3: Fianarantsoa
- Walking tour of the city. Located in the highlands of Madagascar, Fianarantsoa is spread over three levels and is a major crossroads. With its traditional houses, many churches, and wine culture, many visits are possible. In addition to its cultural and religious aspects, the city is also known for its gastronomy. You will find vineyards (Isandra and Famoriana), tea plantations in Sahambavy, and cheese production in Ivoamba. A journey to the southern gateway of Madagascar you won't soon forget.

- Dinner and overnight at Zomatel Hotel.
DAY 4: Fianarantsoa / Ambalavao / Anja / Ranohira
- Early departure to Ranohira. Discover the town of Ambalavao, known for its vineyards and the traditional Antemoro paper factory, an original process inherited from early Arab migrations. South of Ambalavao, we'll visit the Anja Reserve, home to many lemurs.
- Picnic lunch on site.
- Continue in the afternoon, crossing the vast desert plateau of Horombe.
- Arrival in the village of Ranohira late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight at Isalo Ranch.
DAY 5: Ranohira / Beronono / Beroroha
- After breakfast, drive on a dirt road to the village of Beronono.
- Ferry crossing of the longest river on the west coast, the Mangoky River, to reach Beroroha.
- Picnic along the way.
- Arrival in the late afternoon and camp setup.
- Dinner and overnight in bivouac.
DAY 6 to DAY 9: Makay
- 4 days of trekking in northern Makay, 4 to 8 hours of walking per day. The Makay Massif, in southwest Madagascar, is one of the island’s last unexplored areas. This hiking circuit immerses you in an extraordinary zone of Madagascar, off the beaten path, ideal for lovers of vast landscapes and trekking. Its unique geography of sandstone massifs, forests, and lakes gives it an inaccessible character and exceptional endemic biodiversity.
- Let yourself be guided to discover the rich biodiversity of the massif, home to many animals such as parrots and raptors (buzzards, kites, and striped polyboroids), along with insights into the culture and traditions of the Bara people along the way.

- Dinner and overnight in bivouac.
DAY 10: Makay / Ranohira
- After breakfast, departure to Ranohira.
- Lunch en route.
- Arrival in Ranohira in the afternoon, check-in and rest at the hotel.
- Dinner and overnight at Isalo Ranch.
DAY 11: Isalo
- Covering an area of 81,540 ha, Isalo National Park offers a wide range of flora and fauna. Visit the park’s canyons and ridges, the Nymphs’ Waterfall, and the natural pools like the Blue Pool and Black Pool.
- Picnic lunch.
- In the late afternoon, stop at Isalo Window to watch the sunset over the massif.
- Dinner and overnight at Isalo Ranch.
DAY 12: Ranohira / Ilakaka / Tuléar / Ifaty
- Departure for Tuléar via the well-known villages of Ilakaka and Sakaraha on the vast Horombe Plateau. Once humble villages, the discovery of massive sapphire deposits transformed them into bustling mining towns. You’ll see open-pit mines and many gemstone shops (“vatosoa” means precious stones in Malagasy). Along the way, the first endemic species of baobabs appear, as well as the vast Mahafaly karst plateau. We’ll visit the city of Tuléar, then continue to Ifaty for a seaside stay.
- Dinner and overnight at Nautilus Club.
DAY 13 & DAY 14: Ifaty
- Free time to relax and enjoy the beach.
- Full board and overnight at Nautilus Club.
DAY 15: Ifaty / Antananarivo
- Transfer to Tuléar Airport (depending on flight time).
- Flight to Antananarivo, welcome at Ivato airport and transfer to the hotel.
- Dinner and overnight at IC Hotel.
DAY 16: Antananarivo / Ivato Airport
- Transfer to Ivato airport (depending on flight time).
